Dorothy "Dot" Ann Sharp
January 21, 1944 — August 3, 2022
Dorothy “Dot” Ann Sharp, also known as “Me-Maw” to her beloved grandchildren, born in Lake Charles on January 21, 1944, daughter of the late Alcide and Mabel Dugas, passed away in a local hospital on August 3, 2022, at age 78.
Dot attended Iowa High School until her senior year, and moved to Grand Lake with her family, where she graduated from Grand Lake High School. She retired from the Port of Lake Charles. Dot enjoyed gardening, and being with family, especially her grandchildren. She welcomed everyone into her home with love and joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Donald J. Dugas, Sr.
Dot is survived by her children, Joseph “Joe” Sharp (Rhea), Karen Leone (Lonnie), and Becky Guidry (Joe); brother, Douglas J. Dugas (Barbara), and Debbie Babineaux (Gus Fazzio); grandchildren, Alicia Johnson (Tanner), Joel Sharp (Hannah), Caleb Sharp (Kayla), Amber, Adam, Marissa Savant, Kelsee Leone, Joshua Guidry (Ashley), Jana Hensgens (Kyle), and Jevin Guidry (Kristina); and 25 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. A gathering of friends and family begins Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
