Lacassine – Dorothy Mae Ardoin, born on January 5, 1932, daughter of the late Hubertie and Olampe (Doucet) Brasseaux, passed away in a local hospital on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the age of 89.
Dot was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and attending sporting events with her family. Dot always made everyone in the family a birthday cake every year on their birthday.
Dot is survived by her sons, Freddie Ardoin, Jr. (Evadine); Danny Ardoin (Marilyn); Chris Ardoin (Stephanie); siblings, Hubert Brasseaux; Jimmy Brasseaux and Benita Husers; grandchildren, Shellie Hoffpauir; Eric Ardoin; Brad Ardoin; Brittany Mallett; Crystal Courville; Brooke Romero; great-grandchildren, Haylie, and Hadley Hoffpauir; Gavin, Lily and Aubrey Ardoin; Ava, Cash and Price Ardoin; Kallyn Ardoin; Harley and Avery Miller; Jaylei, Boston, Karter, and Parker Mallett; Darren Savoie; Laila and Elizabeth Courville, with 1 Romero on the way.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie A. Ardoin, Sr.; siblings, Jenora Cormier; Sandra Pousson; Berna Pujol.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. John the Evangelist on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10 a.m. Rev. Jom Joseph, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin Tuesday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
