Dorothy Ellen Duplechin

Dorothy Ellen Duplechin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at the age of 89. Anyone who knew her, knew her love for Jesus and powerful prayers.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Gloria Higginbotham; sons, Stewart (Angela); Ted (Lisa) and daughter-in-law, Lisa (Tim); sister, Gerrie`; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Dorothy may now rest in heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death including her parents, Hammy Fontenot and Eva Moreau; husband, Zedor Duplechin, and son, Timothy Duplechin; siblings, Harry; Janell, and Joyce.

Visitation will begin on Friday, January 29, 2021 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. James Townley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery.

Special thanks to our wonderful sitters, Heart of Hospice & Gueydan Memorial Nursing Home for treating our mother as though she was their own family.

As per the request of the family, face coverings will be required.
