LeBleu Settlement – Dorothy Mae Hicks, 69, passed away in a local care center on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the Lake Charles area. She worked at Sears for 11 years and was a very kind, loving person and loved everyone. Dorothy was a very social person, loved going out and meeting new people.
Survivors include her son, Rodney Rogers & wife, Susan, of Westlake, their children, R. J. and Joseph; daughters, Roxanne Talbott of Lake Charles, her children, Nathan, Abigail, and Nolan; daughter, Amy Ellis and partner, Howard Whitten, of Beaumont, TX, their children, Emma, Atleigh, and Zoey. She is also survived by her brothers, Darrell Sarvaunt and wife, Pauline, of Lake Charles, Jerry LeBleu and wife, Ann, of Port Neches, TX, Ray Sarvaunt (twin) and wife, Eva, of Lakeland, FL, Henry Sarvaunt and wife, Lou Anna, of Lake Charles; sister, Stella Miller of Moss Bluff.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Orelia Sarvaunt; sister, Dorothy Lee Sarvaunt; brothers, Buddy Boy Sarvaunt and Huey LeBleu; grandson, Dustin Talbott and son-in-law, William Talbott.
A Celebration of Life service is Saturday, August 27, 2016 beginning at 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., in the VFW Post #2130, 5676 Lake Street, Lake Charles. Cremation is under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
