Dorothy Jean Holmes

Dorothy Jean Holmes, 78, of Lake Charles, LA and formerly of Tupelo, MS died Monday April 25, 2011 in a Lake Charles Care Facility surrounded by family.

Dorothy was born in Mississippi on March 25, 1933 to John William and Donna Bell Crossnoe Champion. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired seamstress and waitress.

Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents, husbands, Charles Dowdy and George Holmes and great grandchild, Dakota Robbins. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Janet Comeaux and husband Donald, Lake Charles, LA and Toni Dowdy, Pontotoc, Miss; Two sons, Stephen Dowdy and Ricky Dowdy and wife Cathy, both of Southhaven, Miss; sister, Opal Grisham, Ingomar, Miss.; eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday April 29, 2011 Christian Rest Cemetery in Etta, Mississippi.
