Dorothy Matthews Trumps

Dorothy Ann Matthews Trumps, 86, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Trumps was born in Big Lake, LA and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She worked her younger years as a waitress and in the cafeteria of Marion and LaGrange High Schools. She enjoyed shopping and having lunch with her daughter. Mrs. Trumps was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Deborah Benoit Ezell and husband Russell of Lake Charles; one son, Stanford Benoit, Jr. and wife Roberta of Victorville, CA; one sister, Gladys Bourque of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and her special nephew, Michael Newman and wife Kathy of Sulphur.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Stanford Benoit and Leo Trumps; two sons, Jerry and Donald Benoit; parents, F.E. and Rosa Matthews; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 02, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wayne Dartez will officiate. Interment will follow in Grand Lake Community Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and will continue Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
