Dorris Joseph "Snooky" Trahan

Lake Charles – Dorris Joseph “Snooky” Trahan, born November 5, 1946, son of the late Dalton Joseph/Elias T. Breaux and Goldie Francis (Robinson) Trahan, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, at the age of 74.

“Snooky” retired from the City of Lake Charles after 40 years as a sweeper operator. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, BBQ, working word search puzzles, wrestling, and listening to music.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Beverly A. Higginbotham; Loyce Trahan; Oddley Trahan; E. J. Trahan; Rodney Trahan; half-siblings, Ernest Breaux; J. C. Breaux; Irene LeDoux; Mary Lou Harrell and, Lou Ethel East.

“Snooky” is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Lawson) Trahan; son, Ricky Trahan (Amanda); daughter, Sandy McClane (Brian); siblings, Floyd Trahan and companion, Darlene; Velma Ledkins; Linda Thibodeaux (Carroll); Charlene LaBouve (Jimmy); Orlene Lopez (Perry); grandchildren, Garrett; Grace (WanSu); Blaine; great-grandchild, Torin and one on the way, Amelia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Margaret Catholic Church on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11 a.m. Rev. Sam Orsot, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation is Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. and will resume Thursday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

As per the family, facial coverings are requested, and no food will be allowed.
