Douglas Jamil “Duke” Rahbany died Saturday, November 11 in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was born April 24, 1960, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Raji S “Roger” and Leona Shirley “Comeaux” Rahbany.
Duke lived all his life in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He attended Oak Park Elementary and Oak Park Junior High Schools before moving on and graduating from Lake Charles High School in 1978.
Duke was an avid car enthusiast. He loved all types of models and loved purchasing used cars for dealers.
Left to cherish is memories are his mother, Leona Shirley Rahbany, sister Sheila (Doug) Schultz and David (Tyra) Rahbany. He also left behind several nieces and nephews. Katy (Jason) Tate, Kimberly (Ryan) Godare, Konrad (Kelsey) Schultz, Connor (Madison) Rahbany, Alexander Rahbany, Grayson Rahbany and John Regan Rahbany along with several great nieces and nephews along with countless cousins.
Waiting to greet him in his new journey are his father Raji S “Roger” Rahbany, paternal grandparents Raji S. Rahbany Sr. and Haifa Nadar Rahbany. Maternal grandparents Ewell Comeaux, Myrtle Provost and Ted Provost.
The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Bradberry for his medical care and guidance along with the ER and ICU staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital who took care of him so compassionately. These are true angels sent to people in their hardest, darkest, and final hours.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 11:00am in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, LA. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 9:00am – 11:00pm at Johnson Funeral Home.
