Dylan James Morrell, 24, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Friday, January 6, 2017 in a car accident.
Dylan was born September 11, 1992 in Lake Charles, LA, where he lived until 2009 when he moved to Vidor, TX, then to Warren, TX and returning to Lake Charles in 2013. He was a graduate of Bell City High School, where he was a member of the Rodeo Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his car and spending time with his friends. Dylan had a big heart and always had a smile on his face. He will be missed dearly by those who loved him.
Dylan is survived by his wife of four years, Kallaugha Marie Braneff Morrell of Warren, TX; daughter, Laylah Morrell of Warren, TX; mother, Angelia Nix of Lake Charles; sister, Morgan Morrell of Lake Charles; parents-in-law, Michael and Tina Braneff of Warren, TX; grandparents, Nedria Estillette and husband Chauncey of Lake Charles and Doris and Chester Dyson of Grand Lake, LA; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bentley Dale Braneff; father, Keith Wade Dyson; grandfather, John Anthony “Tony” Ball; and great-grandmother, Dorothy Joyce Packwood.
A gathering of family members and friends will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:00 PM. Cremation will follow the visitation.
