Earl James Soileau, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Born on November 9, 1937, in Oberlin, Louisiana, Earl was the beloved son of Gus and Lorene Marcantel Soileau.

A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Earl proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating many years to PPG, from which he retired in 2000. Retirement allowed him to spend countless hours in his woodworking shop, where his steady hands and patient craftsmanship reflected the quiet strength of his character.

Earl found his greatest joy in his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought immeasurable pride to his life. He was a man who appreciated life’s simple blessings, a meaningful conversation, a job well done, and time shared with those he loved. One of his most cherished routines was his weekly Tuesday date with his daughter, Stephanie. Whether running errands or enjoying lunch together, these moments became treasured memories that spoke to the deep bond they shared.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving daughter, Stephenie Soileau Felice and husband James of Moss Bluff, LA; his grandsons, Derek Felice of Lake Charles, Jordan Felice of Bridge City, Texas, Thomas Teague and Taylor Teague, both of Moss Bluff, LA; his sister, Donna Marie Slaton of Groves, TX; along with a number of nieces and nephews who will remember him with affection.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kelly Layne Teague; and his brothers, Walter Soileau and Bobby Soileau.

Earl's funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel of Lake Charles. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, and will resume at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, continuing until the time of service.

Earl will be remembered for his steady presence, his humble spirit, and the love he gave so freely to his family. May those who knew and loved him find comfort in the memories they shared and in the lasting imprint he leaves on their hearts.
