Easter Mae Thistrup Broussard, 69, of Choupique, passed away on March 10, 2013 at a local hospital. Mae was born on April 25, 1943 in Sulphur, LA. She was a devoted wife, mother and meme who enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of Choupique Baptist Church, an active choir member and served for many years as a Sunday school and Bible school teacher. Mae retired as a school bus driver for CPSB after 25 years. Mrs. Broussard is survived by her husband of 51 years, L. Gene Broussard of Choupique, LA; daughters, Laurie Perrin and husband, David of Dallas, TX, and Kelley Allen and husband, Tom of West Columbia, SC; son, Dan Broussard and wife, Itasca (Castille) of Carlyss, LA; mother, Mary L. Ogea Thistrup of Choupique, LA; grandchildren: Jason Perrin and wife, Chelsea of Wylie, TX, Katie Perrin and fianc Cooper Taylor of Dallas, TX, Heidi Allen and husband, Will of Chesapeake, VA, Hayley Allen and Jana Allen of Chesapeake, VA, and Nathan Allen of West Columbia, SC, Ashley, Alyson and Chance Broussard of Carlyss, LA; one great-grandchild, Leighton Noelle Perrin;3 brothers, Buddy Thistrup, Wilson Thistrup, and Gilbert Thistrup; 5 sisters, Ann LeBrun, Anita LeBrun, Mary Ann Hoelzer, Theresa Pruitt, and Rosalie Thistrup; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Thistrup; brothers: Neilson Thistrup and Jimmy Thistrup; and sister, Linda Matthews. The family would like to thank Dr. Dennis Miller, care-giver, Frances Kothmann, from A First Name Basis, Southern Care Hospice, and the nursing staff of Women and Childrens Hospital for their amazing care. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11:00 am at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nay Vickers and Dr. David Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery, Carlyss, LA. Visitation will begin on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 3:00 pm-9:00 pm at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Tuesday at 8 am until time of service.
