Eddie Ewing, Jr.

Eddie John Ewing, Jr. 83, of Sulphur, LA passed away on January 19, 2025, at a local hospital.

He was born on January 22, 1941, in Cypremort Point, LA. He was a SPEC-4 1st armored division in the U.S. Army. When he returned to Sulphur he worked as a roughneck in the Oilfield Industry. He later worked as a custodian at First Baptist Church in Sulphur for 35 years. Eddie collected coins and stamps and spent many enjoyable hours with his collections. He never met a stranger, and he loved to make people laugh.

Eddie was preceded in death by the love of his life Henrietta (Estelle) Sallier Ewing; his parents, Eddie John Ewing Sr. and Rita Borel Ewing; sisters, Catherine Ann (Cathy) Ewing Caldwell and Jane Ewing Dutil; and his brother, Billy Gene Ewing. He is survived by his brothers, Teddy James Ewing and Jack Lee Ewing of Sulphur; and his sister, Joan Ewing Dupre of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur.
