Eddie L. Kershaw

Eddie L. Kershaw, 66, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 in a local care facility.

Eddie was born on January 7, 1950 to Robert Kershaw, Jr. and Martha LeBleu. He was a native of Lake Charles and a graduate of Iowa High School in 1968. He worked for Lake Charles City Police before becoming a Louisiana State Trooper. He then retired as a Lieutenant after 21 years of service. Eddie was a member of the LA State Troopers Association and the Knights of Columbus Council #8978. He loved watching football and was a faithful fan of the New Orleans Saints.

Left to cherish Eddie’s memory is his wife Andrea Butler Kershaw of Lake Charles; son, Stephen Kershaw of Lake Charles; daughter Amanda Picard and husband Brad of Lake Charles; brother, Terry Kershaw of Lake Charles; sister, Betty Kershaw of Baton Rouge; mother, Martha Lou Kershaw Higgins and husband John of Lacassine; grandson, Stephen Russell Kershaw of Lake Charles; as well as his two dogs Ziggy and Spike Kershaw.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Guy Kershaw, Jr.

Mr. Eddie’s funeral service will be held at Saint Margaret Catholic Church on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Father Jay Alexius will officiate services. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
