Edith Trahan Crochet

Edith Trahan Crochet, 86, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 1:16 AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in a local hospital.

 

Mrs. Crochet was born on June 22, 1931 in Lake Arthur, LA and has lived in Lake Charles since 1948. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and a lifelong member of the VFW Post #2130 Ladies Auxiliary. She was devoted to praying her rosary daily and made her Cursillo. Mrs. Crochet was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who opened her home every Sunday for family dinners. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.

 

Mrs. Crochet is survived by her sons, Larry D. Crochet and wife Karen of Moss Bluff and Blain D. Crochet and wife DeAnna of Holmwood; daughter, Tina Crochet Ware and husband Ricky of DeRidder; best friend and nursing home buddy, Ruth Kriner; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Crochet; brothers, Marshall, Thomas, Simon, and Lodias Trahan; sisters, Ozite Thibodeaux and Patsy Lantz; and grandchildren, Amber Nicole Crochet and Jared Crochet.

 

A Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Torres will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
