Raymond Richard

Edmund Raymond Richard, 81, passed away on February 11, 2026. He was born on December 3, 1944, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Raymond graduated from Marion High School and attended McNeese State University. He worked in the field of agriculture from the time of his high school graduation until his retirement at the age of 75. He also held a real estate license.

Raymond enjoyed working with farmers, traveling, camping, boating, fishing, and watching old westerns and football. He loved his LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. He also enjoyed cooking, hosting for the holidays, and spending time with his family, which was one of his favorite things to do. Raymond loved music and loved to dance. He especially cherished the card games on the river with his uncles and other relatives from time to time.

He was preceded in death by Denise Turton Richard; his parents, Edmond and Dorothy Richard; his sister, Patsy McDaniel; and his brothers, David Richard and Jimmy Richard.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Widener; his son, Hershal Richard; his stepdaughter, Kelly Wildman; his grandchildren, Kobi Sonnier, Tyler Richard, Hayden Richard, Aleigh Langley, Kennedy Langley, and Owen Widener; his great-grandsons, Luke Richard and Elliot Sonnier; his siblings, Gayla Sue Hebert, Ronnie Richard, Jerry Richard, and Randy Richard; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
