Edna Racca Witherwax

Edna Witherwax, 95, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
Born in Lacassine on June 24, 1921, Edna was the daughter of the late Herbert and Angela Rose (Chiasson) Racca. She attended St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa. Edna enjoyed spending time and taking care of her family and home, cooking, canning and enjoyed working for Avon as a sales woman for over 30 years.
She is survived by her children, Eddie Lee Witherwax (Anna), Darrel Witherwax (Carolyn), Ladd Witherwax (Kay), Jona Daigle (George), Tera Witherwax (Denise Broyles); siblings, J.D. Racca, Verdie Mae Miller, Mary Ann Talbott; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Witherwax; parents, Herbert and Angela Racca; siblings, EdMae Roy, Leonard Racca, Elwin Racca, John Racca, Willard Racca, Wilson Racca and Herman Racca.
Visitation is Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with a rosary at 6 p.m. and will resume Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services are Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Timothy Witherwax officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
