Edward Joseph Wannage

Edward Joseph Wannage, 59, passed away peacefully at his home after battling a long illness.

Mr. Wannage was born and raised here in Lake Charles and graduated from Grand Lake High School, Class of 1976. He worked as a heavy equipment crane operator for the Local 406 Union and was also an accomplished commercial fisherman. Edward always liked to help people and was a friend to all. His family remembers him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Genevieve A. Wannage; daughter, Genevieve L. Wannage “LaTesha”; son, George Edward Wannage (Allie); son, Tyren Andre Wannage; daughter, LaDonna Paige Wannage “Lovie”; five grandchildren, Kyle Joseph Wannage, Matthew W. Elam, ZoRolland D. Boudreaux, Avenley Wannage, Grayson Wannage; one brother; and six sisters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Katherine Wannage.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
