It is with deep sorrow to announce the passing Eileen "Pinkie" Bouquet Chaumont on July 5, 2025, at her home in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was 91 years old.
A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Eileen was born on February 2, 1934. She was a 1953 graduate of St. Charles Academy, where her outgoing personality and quick wit earned her the "Wittiest" award among her classmates. Eileen never met a stranger-she had a warm and welcoming presence that made everyone feel at home.
On September 18, 1954, Eileen married her high school sweetheart, Seeburn Chaumont. He was an athlete at Landry Memorial, and she was a cheerleader at St. Charles Academy. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless visits to their favorite "picture shows" and the old Borden's Ice Cream shop on Ryan Street.
A devoted Catholic, Eileen was a lifelong member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and St. Margaret's Catholic Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she instilled its importance in her children and grandchildren. Family meals around the table were sacred to her, and she made sure that every evening was spent around the table with her family.
Eileen was a wonderful cook and became known for her chicken and sausage gumbo. She often hosted priests and friends for meals. She thrived on having a full house, enjoying every chance to entertain guests and loved ones.
Eileen is survived by her siblings Ida Mae Jones, Martha Todd, and Beth Arendt (Dennis); her daughter, Beth Buller (Warren); her son, Chad Chaumont (Kelly Paplin); and her grandchildren Matthew Buller, Mary Moore (Jordan), Michael Buller (Alyssa), Monica Kraemer (Andre), Mark Buller, Chloe Paplin, Jackson Paplin; her great grandchildren Lydia Moore, Evelyn Moore, Clare Moore, Henry Moore, Elizabeth Buller, Peter Buller, and Victoria Buller.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 65 years, Seeburn Chaumont; her parents Adnes Bouquet and Manette Landry Bouquet; her siblings Mervyn Phillips (Ralph), Roberta Joslin (AJ), Celeste Belaire (RJ), Robert Bouquet (Mildred), and George Bouquet (Ruth); brothers-in-law Desmond Jones and Jimmy Todd; several nieces and nephews; and her great-grandson Thomas Moore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception led by Father Ruben Buller. Visitation will also be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the same day beginning at 1:30 PM, with a Rosary at 2:45 PM. Interment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
A special thank you to Jacquelinetta Bouley for her compassionate care of "Miss Pinkie" in her last two years of life.
