Iowa – Elaine Joyce LeJeune passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in a local care facility surrounded by her family.
Elaine Joyce was born in Lacassine on January 29, 1943 to the late Noah and Leora (Daigle) Lopez. She was a graduate of Hathaway High School. She loved being with her family and sharing a cup of coffee with her friends. Her sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her sons, Carl LeJeune (Hildy) and Irwin LeJeune (Melissa), both of Lacassine; daughter, Denise LeJeune of Iowa; sister, Loynita Ingalls (Larry) of Iowa; grandchildren, Brandon W. LeJeune, Sara E, Rozas (Phillip), Amanda R. Welch (Marvin), Adonia R. LeJeune (Jack Walker), Danielle M. Ledford (Ryan) and Tiffany N. Carlton (Scott). She is also survived by her 13 great-grandchildren and her caretaker for the last ten years, Bonnie Landry. Preceding her in death are her parents; spouse, Daniel “Gene” LeJeune; siblings, Robert and Wayne Lopez.
Visitation begins Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Funeral services are Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Seven Dolors in Welsh.
