February 9, 1933 — December 2, 2016

Elder Johnson Babineaux of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in her home on December 2, 2016.

Elder is survived by her devoted husband of nearly sixty-eight years, Burdon L. Babineaux; her son, Perry Babineaux and wife Renee; her daughter-in-law, Donna Mott Babineaux; six grandchildren: Shelley Bouillion and husband, Blake; Jill Robert and husband, Ralph; Julie Richard and husband, Ned; Cindi Gott and husband, Aaron; Curtis (“Boogie”) Babineaux and wife, Samantha; Jeremy Babineaux; and, Heith Babineaux; and eleven great-grandchildren.   Elder is also survived by all of her siblings: Della Comeaux, Beverly Williams-Royer, Ann Bergeron, Ellie Paxton, Jean Verret and husband, Larry, and Lloyd Johnson and wife, Margorie (“Jo”).

Elder was preceded in death by her sons, Michael L. Babineaux and Curtis P. Babineaux, Sr., and her grandson, Chad Babineaux.
