Eldridge Thomas Reber, 62, passed away in a local hospital on October 22, 2016.
Born in July 20, 1954 to Forrest and Shirley Holland Reber in Lake Charles.
Left to remember him are his son, Timothy Reber (Shayla); daughters, Angelique Reber Chalker (Timothy), and Lisa Daigle; sisters, Karlene DiCello and Julia Reber; brothers, Ian Smith (Janette), Vernon Reber (Tiffany), Harold Reber (Lisa), and Grant Reber. His beloved grandkids, Kamron, Kaitlyn, and Asher Reber, Jacob and Aryabella Chalker and mother of his children, Bonnie Arceneaux. He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Holland Reber; sister, Bonnie Reber Breaux; nephew, Cpl. Richard Schoener, and grandson, Jeston Chalker.
Eldridge retired after 21 years in the U. S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer; retired from security at Coushatta, and retired from the Dept. of Defense Police. He was a computer guru and a true American Patriot who designed a filing program that saved the military billions of dollars. He was very outgoing, artistic, and would always tell jokes, which he would laugh at the hardest. Eldridge enjoyed playing golf with his brothers and was passionate about softball. Upon retiring, he was looking forward to spending more time with his grandkids.
Funeral services are Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m. in Leesville, LA with military honors.
Visitation is Wednesday from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a rosary 7 p.m., and will resume Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
