Eldridge "Sonny" Theriot

April 19, 1948 — May 27, 2026

Eldridge Paul Theriot, Jr. (Sonny) was called Home to our Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 8:40PM.

Sonny was born on April 19, 1948 and raised in New Iberia, Louisiana. He graduated from Catholic High in 1966, then went on to graduate from Tulane in 1970 (B.S. Chemistry) and University of Houston in 1977 (MBA). He worked as a Chemical Salesman for 19 years and retired in 2004.

For many years, Sonny enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motorhome. They traveled throughout the US with most of their time being spent exploring the East and West coasts with their loved ones. Sonny was known to keep detailed notes of all of their travels and among their adventures; his favorites included traveling through Washington State and Montana, attending Mass wherever they stopped. Their two favorite out of state churches being Our Lady of Las Vegas in Nevada, and St. Joseph Parish in Winslow, Arizona where they were able to bring up the gifts for Communion.

Whenever they were not traveling, Sonny was a faithful member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles.

He is survived by his wife, Madgie Theriot, children - Paul Theriot, Kristi Turner (Rayce), Robin Comeaux (Perry). Sisters - Susan Theriot Gosnell, Bertha Theriot. Brothers - Wayne Theriot (Brian King), Roland Theriot, Thomas Theriot (Lois). Grandchildren - Delaney Shuff Coco (Coby), Anna & Ruby Theriot, Raegan Turner, and Bailey Shuff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cythina Theriot Galbraith (sister), and Robert James Theriot (brother).

Per Sonny's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the International Essential Tremor Foundation are welcomed.
