Elias Cormier, 85, of Sulphur passed away on February 13, 2019 in a local hospital. He was a welder for over 60 years in the local area and retired from Mike Hooks. Elias enjoyed working, cooking, dancing and building things.
Elias is survived by his five children, Carolyn Cormier, Elias Cormier, Jr., Debra Guidry, Belinda Cormier, and Celeste Deshotel; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 7 siblings, Anna, Thelma, Houston, Lucille, Linda, Patsy, Marella, and Betty; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferouse and Beulah Cormier; loving wife of 62 years, Jeanette Cormier; 6 siblings, Pearl, Winnie, Lovina, Theresa, Dolores, and Vivian.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 2 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be in Farquhar Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 5-9 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Sunday, February 17, from 11 A.M. until time of the service.
