Elizabeth Katchur

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Katchur, who left this world peacefully on October 14, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on May 22, 1931, in Saint Clair, PA, Betty lived a full life, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and care. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, who has waited 55 years to dance the polka with her amongst the stars.

Betty's devotion to others was evident in her long and fulfilling career as a labor and delivery nurse, where she touched the lives of countless patients with her kindness and compassion. Her caring nature extended beyond her profession and blossomed in her role as a mother to her three beloved children-Stephen Katchur (Liz), David Katchur (Karen), and Lisa Person (Dave)-who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Her greatest joy was with her grandchildren-Jason, Liz, Christina, John and Kandice-and her great grandchildren-Kellen, Kason, Josephine, Claire, Bruce, and Forrest.

Residing in Lacassine, LA, Betty found joy in the simple things, always ready with a warm smile or a comforting word. She embraced life with a courageous spirit that inspired those around her, and her family was her greatest pride. The family has entrusted cremation arrangements to Johnson Funeral Home.
