Elizabeth Helen Styles, 58, passed away on September 14, 2024 in Lake Charles, LA. She was born on June 13, 1966 in Waukegan, IL to Robert and Judy Aitkins.
A beloved mother, grandmother, artist, and friend. Liz was known by many names, but her favorites were Momma Liz and Gigi. She wore those titles like a badge of honor, given to her by people that loved and cherished her the most. Liz was a passionate creator, expressing herself through various forms of art including but never limited to, painting, woodwork, digital art, crocheting, and jewelry-making, finding beauty in every medium. Her passion for art was matched only by her love for animals and the ocean. She found joy in the companionship of her pets, and the ocean truly reflected her free spirit.
Liz’s life was a testament to resilience and benevolence. Despite facing many challenges throughout her life, Liz remained kind and caring. She loved nothing more than being there for others, even if it was only as a listening ear or shoulder to cry on. She never met a stranger; she had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone she encountered and would kindly break her last piece of bread with anyone if they needed. Her warm spirit and generous heart touched the lives of so many.
Those left to cherish her memory are, her children, Kayla (Tyler) Cates, Henry (Monica) Styles, and Victoria (Aric) Evins; her 3 grandchildren, Grayson and Adeline Cates, and Malcom Styles; her mother, Judy Aitkins; her significant other, Ryan Cloutier; her beloved pets, Yoyo and Shadow; and all her friends that became family over the years. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Aitkins.
Liz will be deeply missed by her friends and family, who will carry her memory and artistic spirit in their hearts forever. A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 PM, on Friday, October 18, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the start of the service at 4:00 PM. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
