Ella Ruth Giaimis

Mrs. Ella Ruth Giaimis, 89, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, surrounded by loving family. She was born on May 19, 1935, in Eunice, LA to Esther Smith and Willis Thibodeaux.

Throughout her life, Ella and her husband embarked on various entrepreneurial ventures, including opening a gas station and wrecker service. Their entrepreneurial spirit also led them to establish the Bridge Point Yacht Center in Westlake, LA, after purchasing a sailing boat. She dedicated many years to her work as a notary and realtor, serving the community with dedication and expertise. Ella worked at Century 21 for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Republican Women the Calcasieu Orchid Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. Also, the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. In her leisure time, Ella found joy in supporting her favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints, and partaking in sailing, bowling, and card games with her friends.

Ella Ruth Giaimis is survived by her loving Daughter Charmaine Mocsary “Joseph” has one child. Christina Mocsary with two great grandchildren, Johnny Jr “Sammie” Giaimis’s two children Josh Giaimis with five great grandchildren and Tori Giaimis “Sue Ellen”, two great grandchildren and son Tony Giaimis “Kim” two children Gina Giaimis, two great grandchildren and Lyndsie Giaimis 4 great grandchildren.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Johnny Giaimis; son, John Giaimis Jr. (Sammy); and parents, Esther Smith and Willis Thibodeaux.

Funeral Services for Ella will be Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will begin Monday, September 23, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. The burial will be at Consolata Cemetery.
