Lake Charles- Elvina Lee Israel, born February 9, 1939 in Kinder, daughter of the late John B. and Amelia (Manuel) Israel, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, October 05, 2019, at the age of 80.
Elvina was a graduate of LaGrange High School and worked for Mullers, First National Bank and the Calcasieu Clerk of Court. She loved working in her garden, going to garage sales and her animals. Elvina was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where she served as a Eucharistic minister for 26 years.
Elvina is survived by her brother, Norris Israel (Ann) of Lake Charles; beloved dog, Kane; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Lucie Streets; John F. Israel; Pearl Creswell; Harry Israel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Lake Charles, Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Rommel Tolentino, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial in Kinder under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation is Monday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6 p.m.
