Emerlene Lou Landry Miller, 87, of Creole died Friday, January 25, 2019 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Miller was a native of and lived most of her life in Creole, LA. She was a graduate of South Cameron High School and a lifetime supporter of Cameron Parish. She enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole and the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Miller’s greatest love was her family, welcoming them, feeding them and making each one feel special. She loved to laugh. Mrs. Miller will be most remembered for her readiness to put on a pot of coffee for company and her ability to always find good in every person or circumstance.
She leaves to cherish her memory, ten children, Herman Williams and wife Linda of Atascocita, TX, Carmen Duplechain and husband Gary of Nacogdoches, TX, Raymond Moore and wife Barbara of Madison, WI, Veronica Governale and husband Paul of Morgan City, Renee Bertrand of Welsh, Michelle Miller of Lake Charles, Patricia Mouton of Baton Rouge, Allen Miller and wife Raylen of Colorado; Larry Miller and wife Callie Ace of Lake Charles and Everett Mark Miller, Jr. and wife Lydia of Grand Lake; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and two sisters, Vernita Tillery and Rose Mae Boudreaux, both of Grand Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Mark Miller; two sons, Charles Joseph Williams and Boyd David Williams; one grandson, Gerry Mouton; parents, Clifford And Eve Theriot Landry; one sister, Maxine Landry Miller and her “fur baby”, Rocky.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Herman Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Creole. Visitation Friday will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
