Emily Rose Futrell, born on September 21, 1940 in Cypress Point, Louisiana, daughter of John Luce and Estella M. Lacombe Hebert, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at age eighty-three.
Emily was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing, crocheting, sitting on the front porch listening to Cajun music. Most of all, she loved being with her family. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and the Catholic daughters.
She is preceded in death by her parents; spouses, Loveless J. Monceaux, and Max Leroy Futrell; companion, Bill Kegley; brothers, Placide Hebert, Vernice Hebert, Jessie Hebert, Clarence Hebert, Roy Hebert, and Louis Hebert; grandbaby, Baby Maple.
Survivors are her children, James Monceaux, Janice Monceaux Hardy (Dennis), and Angela Monceaux Maple (Dean), Belinda Futrell Collins (Paul); sisters, Jean Benoit, Velma Poole, Lorena Fontenot, and Jessie Lou Fontenot; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10 a.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa. Rev. Jom Joseph, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Lake Arthur under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin Thursday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6 p.m. and resume Friday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
