Emma Lou Bullock Theriot

December 31, 1922 — August 14, 2024

Emma Lou Bullock Theriot of Bell City, born in Tylertown, MS on December 31, 1922, daughter of the late Hugh and Stella (Spence) Bullock, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2024, at the age of 101.

A graduate of Franklinton High School, Southeastern University, and McNeese State University where she received her master’s degree in education. Emma was a teacher at Enon High School, Lacassine High School and Bell City High School, she was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, crocheting, and loved reading her bible. Emma was the oldest person in Bell City since 2008.

Emma is survived by her daughter, Pat Broussard (Lloyd); brother, Arthur Bullock (Barbara); sister, Geraldine Weaver; grandchildren, Jonathan Broussard, Elise Broussard; great granddaughter, Chloe Broussard.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Demis Theriot, Jr.; brothers, David Bullock, Luther D. Bullock.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Bro. Jaceson Johnson, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or charity of your choice.
