Emma Morales Smith, 79, of Lake Charles was welcomed into the arms of her heavenly father, Saturday, March 25, 2017, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Emma was a native of San Antonio, TX and lived most of her life in Cameron. She has lived the past eleven years in Lake Charles. Her door was always open and all were welcomed with a smile. Emma was a faithful servant, enjoyed prayer meetings and leading others to prayer. She will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family and as a “social butterfly”.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 30 years, Rodney Smith; four children, John Rice, Jr. (Vina) and Roxanna Domingue (Bryant), Tammie Conner (Shane) and Henry Rice; seven grandchildren, Ryan Domingue, Brandi Domingue, Dawn Walker, Kent Domingue (Mandy), Lex Conner, Kelly Greenlee (Scott) and Eric Rice (Summer); many great grandchildren, three brothers, Henry Morales, Ruben Morales and George Morales; three sisters, Edna Doxey, Virginia Thibodeaux and Evangeline (Nina) Morales and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Catalina Morales; sister, Mary Alice Morales; grandchildren, Shandy Shane Conner and Mikki Kay Domingue; niece, Jill Morales and nephew Bryan Morales.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Very Reverend Anthony M. Fontenot will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Monday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Prayer and Rosary service beginning at 6:30 PM. Visitation Tuesday will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
