Eric Bernard Slocum, 50, passed away in his home on April 10, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Eric was born on February 22, 1967, to Ronald and Sandra Bernard in Lake Charles, LA.
Eric, or Jim, as he was known by all of his friends graduated in 1985 from Barbe High School and then attended McNeese and Sowela technical Institute. Jim loved watching old movies and television programs like “McCloud” and “The Waltons”. Jim also loved to listen to music and he was thrilled to attend two Anne Murray concerts. One of his all- time favorite things to do was to bake. He especially loved to bake Biscotti, which he often made for special friends and relatives.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Bernard.
Left to cherish his memory are: his mother, Sandra Bernard of DeQuincy; his sisters Charlotte (David) Landry, and Karen (Clinton) Hutto of DeQuincy; his brothers, Scott (Nancy) Bernard of Lake Charles and, Daniel Bernard of DeQuincy; his aunt and uncle Sallye and Theos Duhon of Grand Lake, along with his niece, Bonnie Bernard of Anchorage, AK. Jim also leaves behind his cats, whom he loved very much, Frank and Al.
Jim’s private burial at Consolata Cemetery has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
