Ernest Lee Fruge

Ernest Lee Fruge, 60, passed away at his home on January 31, 2017.

Mr. Fruge was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and spent around thirty years at UTEC as an inspector. Ernest is remembered a jokester that loved to pick at his friends and family by giving them nicknames. He was a Catholic man with a big heart that lived for his daughter and grandkids.

He is survived by his daughter, Diana Manuel; three grandsons, Caleb, Eric, and Anthony Manuel; two sisters, Carol Watton, and Lula Benoit; three step-brothers, Tivis, Timmy, and Royce Benoit; three aunts, Marian Lopez (Paul), Joyce Spears, and Mary Leger (Jimmy); an uncle, John LaFleur (Linda), and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Fruge; and sister, Kathy Soileau.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1PM, February 3, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Deacon Fred Reed will officiate. Visitation will be from 5PM to 8PM on Thursday, February 2 at the funeral home with a rosary at 6PM. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 10AM on Friday until the start of the funeral.
