It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ernest Alvin Weekly, affectionately known as "Mann," who left us on August 8, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on November 13, 1956, in Abbeville, LA, Mann lived a life filled with love, laughter, and hard work. He dedicated many years to his career as a floor hand in the oil field, retiring contentedly in 2006 to enjoy his passions. Mann was an avid fisherman and loved tinkering with small engines. He could often be found enjoying his favorite pastimes-completing word searches, reading the newspaper, and taking pride in his yardwork. His warm spirit and humor will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Mann is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Cheryl Weekly, along with his son, Daniel Weekly (Tabitha), and daughters Ashley Weekly (Brett Jaramillo) and Heather Weekly (Joshua Nunally). He cherished and adored his 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, with another on the way. He leaves behind a loving family including siblings Wanda McClelland (Sylvester), Cynthia Cormier (Edward), and Anthony Weekly (Bonita), as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will carry on his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kilbern and Rosanne Weekly, and his brother, Bartholomew Weekly.
