Ernestine Toney Siordia

Ernestine Toney “Tina” Siordia passed away peacefully Sunday, October 3, 2021 in a local hospice facility.  She was born December 9, 1929 in Richland Parish, Louisiana to George W. and Ida Mae Conrad Toney.  She grew up on a farm in Richland Parish, and graduated from Rayville High School.

Tina retired as a medical transcriptionist after forty-one years of service.  She was a strong woman of character.  She enjoyed traveling, reading, country & western dancing, and slots.  She especially enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family whom she loved fiercely.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carolyn Chelette, and Debra Barber; her grandchildren, Carolyn, Jennifer and Kristen; her great grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Austin, Joshua and Ian; and four great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.       

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care.
