Ervin Vidrine

Ervine Vidrine, 96, of Lake Charles died at 4:15 AM on Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Sulphur at his daughter’s  residence.

Mr. Vidrine was born on November 20, 1919 in Pine Prairie, LA and lived in Lake Charles all of his life.  He belonged to the Maritime Association and retired as a longshoreman at the Port of Lake Charles.  One of his favorite places was the Big Lake area where he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and boating.

Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Barbara Lucas of Elton, Bonnie Marx of Colorado, and Faye Stewart of Lake Charles; a son, William “Bill” Vidrine of Lake Charles; two brothers, Earl Vidrine of Orange, TX and Lanson Vidrine of Lake Charles; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
