Estelle Matte Bordelon Thibodeaux

Estelle Matte Bordelon Thibodeaux, 95, of Lake Charles died Thursday, January 24, 2019 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Thibodeaux was a native of Church Point, LA and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. Before starting her family, Mrs. Thibodeaux worked as an operator for BellSouth Telephone. Mrs. Thibodeaux’s favorite past time was working in her flower gardens. For fun, she loved French music and dancing and was a member of the Cajun French Music Association. She also enjoyed cooking. Mrs. Thibodeaux was a lady of grace, faith and prayer. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society. Her greatest love was being a mother, she will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of forty-six years, Linton Joseph Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; nine children, Gary Bordelon and wife Annette of Vinton, Gail Bordelon Courtney and husband Jim, Greg Bordelon and companion Maria, Brent Bordelon and companion Margo, all of Lake Charles, Mark Bordelon and wife Dana of Evans, Phyllis Bordelon Miller and husband Ricky of Big Lake, Steven Bordelon, Lisa Bordelon Henry and husband Roger, Cindy Bordelon Armentor and husband Randy, of Lake Charles, Pam Thibodeaux Wooley, Judy Thibodeaux Johnson, Valerie “ReeRee” Thibodeaux Parr and husband Mike, Volina “BeeBee’ Thibodeaux and wife Sonya and Levins “Tippy” Thibodeaux, all of Mississippi. She also leaves many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenza and Eva Matte; two sisters; one brother; her son, Terry Thibodeaux and two grandsons, Jason Todd Miller and Robert Alan Bordelon.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot will officiate. Visitation Friday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Committal services at Highland Memorial Gardens will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 27, 2019.
