Estelle Pellerin

April 27, 1925 — April 5, 2017

Estelle Sonnier Pellerin, 91, of Lake Charles peacefully entered eternal life on April 5, 2017.

She had been a resident of Grand Cove Nursing Home for almost four years, living out her final years in the same place as her loving husband of fifty-one years Wilton Pellerin. She was born in Oberlin, LA and lived most of her adult life in Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by Andrus Manuel, her first husband and the father of her two daughters. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa LeBlanc and a son, Sandrus Pellerin.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Hohman of Magnolia, TX; her son, James and wife Dorothy Pellerin of Lake Charles; sisters, Yvonne Fuselier of Westlake and Wanda Walker of Kinder; five grandsons, Shane Cormier, Tony Mancuso, Jason Lavender, Fr. Keith Pellerin and Kevin Pellerin, as well as numerous great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Her life was defined by her faith and love of her family. She was well known for her homemade bread and pecan pies. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, active in the Ladies Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 10, 2017 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Her grandson, Reverend Keith Pellerin will officiate. Interment will be in Prien Memorial Park under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM April 9, 2017, with a Scripture Service at 6:00 PM and a Rosary to follow led by her son James Pellerin, and continues from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Monday, in the funeral home.

Her family would like to express our sincere love and gratitude to relatives and friends, as well as Grand Cove Nursing Home and Brighton Bridge Hospice.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the charity, church, or Hospice of your choice.
