Ethel M. Corbello, born in Sweetlake, LA on December 28, 1929, daughter of the late Elian and Lucy (Pomia) Fusilier, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at age 92.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Ethel enjoyed sewing, coloring, and being with her family. She was an excellent cook, and her family especially loved her fried chicken.
She is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Isaac Corbello, Jr.; son, Emerson James “Jimmy” Corbello; siblings, Audrey Primeaux, Ivan “Red” Fusilier, LeRoy Fusilier, Charles Glen Fusilier, and Jack Lyn Fusilier; grandchildren, Sabrina Corbello, Chad Corbello, and Zachary Cupp.
Survivors are her children and their spouses, Howard “Bud” Corbello (Beverly), Paul Corbello (Dorothy), Dolly Ilgenfritz, Joyce Bunch, Wilbert “Yopie” Corbello, Sarah Cupp (Mike), Mark Corbello (Judy), Tony Corbello (Ricky Thigpen); siblings, Herbert Fusilier, Sr., and Sophie Alexander; 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Pastor Gil Broussard will officiate. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and will resume Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 9:30 a.m.
