Ethel Mae Leger LeBlanc, 85, of Ragley, passed away on June 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Ethel was a hardworking woman who rarely sat still. She loved being outside, tending to her flowers and working in her yard. Well into her seventies, she was still mowing her own grass on her zero-turn mower, taking pride in keeping her home looking beautiful.
She loved to cook and was known for making what her family believed to be the best gumbo, rice and gravy, and homemade meals around. She was also an incredible baker, especially when it came to her famous coconut pies and beautifully made cakes that family and friends always looked forward to.
Ethel was a hoot. She loved to laugh, have fun, and keep everyone around her smiling. She was known for making up the funniest stories just to tease her grandchildren. According to Ethel, she had once been a professional basketball player and a former Rockette dancer. Whether anyone believed her or not didn't matter-she loved seeing the reactions. There was never a dull moment when she was around.
She never met a stranger and had a gift for making friends wherever she went. Her warm personality and joyful spirit made everyone feel welcome.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lorraine Leeds and husband Butch Jr., Susaune White and husband Mac, and Katherine LeBlanc; her daughter-in-law, Debby Gray; her grandchildren, Kirk Gray, Lori Powell, William Leeds, Stacy White, Kaitlyn Greenhaw, Kenzie Robinson, Hayden Hardin, and Tristian Gray; and her great-grandchildren, Allison Raven, Bradley Daley, Gabriel Powell, Victoria Powell, Evan Gray, Mason Gray, Dylan Gray, Dominic Gray, Camilla Sedano, Landon Greenhaw, Zoey Greenhaw, and Aubrey Greenhaw.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Luther LeBlanc; her sons, Lawson Fawler Gray and Tommy Alfred Gray; her grandson, Michael Shane Daley; and her parents, Alfred and Lucia Langley Leger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley. Burial will follow at Green Oaks Cemetery in Kinder.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. and continue until leaving for the church at 9:30 a.m.
Ethel will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her laughter, her love of family, and the joy she brought everywhere she went.
