Etta Belle Elmer Babineaux, 98, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 2:30 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in her son’s residence.
Mrs. Babineaux was born August 30, 1919 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, where she was a Catholic Daughter. She loved to sew and crochet and had a great love for her family.
Mrs. Babineaux is survived by her son, Robert Babineaux, Sr. of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Butch Babineaux and wife Julia, Sheila Newell and husband John, Glenn Babineaux and wife Kelly, Lana Ellis and husband David, and Dennis Babineaux and wife Cheri; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Nicholas, Anna, Sadie, Lacy, Hannah, Olivia, Daltin, and Jaquelyn; and great-great-grandchildren, Knox, Ryleigh, Adalynn, Harper, and Evynn.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, “B.P.” Babineaux; parents, Henry and Alice Elmer; and her brothers and sisters.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father Trey Ange, her great-great-nephew, will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Johnson Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the funeral home.
