Evelyn Mary Cormier

Welsh – Evelyn Mary Cormier, born in Church Point on June 5, 1934, daughter of the late Ovey Joseph and Madora Mary (Morvant) Hanks, departed this life for her Heavenly home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the age of 87.
Evelyn was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, where she was a member of Ladies Altar Society. She loved quilting, embroidery, baking and decorating cakes.
She is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Kirby Cormier, Sr., sons, Johnny Cormier, Stanford Cormier, daughter-in-law, Shere Cormier, son-in-law, Onezine Granger.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Elaine Granger, Edith Daigle (Russell); Kirby Cormier, Jr.; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, with 3 great-great grandchildren on the way.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Island Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service with a rosary recited at 10 a.m.
