Evelyn Guidry Fontenot, born March 21, 1942 in Bunkie, LA, daughter of the late Elza and Violet (LeBleu) Guidry, passed away in Beckville, Texas on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the age of 80.
Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Fontenot, and son, Ricky Fontenot.
Survivors are her children, Jona Fontenot, Becky Fontenot, Michael Fontenot (Kelly), Karen Smith (Virgil), Cheryl Woodard (Kirvee), Wayne Fontenot (Tonya), and Glenda Fontenot; sister, Barbara Bean, brother, Edley Guidry; 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 14, 2022 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Friday in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
