Ewell Leonard, born in Cow Island on October 11, 1930, passed away April 8, 2023, at the age of 92.
Ewell enjoyed gardening, spending time with his grandchildren and working with cattle.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Leonard and wife, Gwen; daughter, Regina LeJeune and husband, Rodney; sister, Mildred Meaux; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 53 years, Edwina Leonard; 11 brothers and sisters; son, Donald Leonard; daughters, Shirley Janise, and Charlotte Broussard.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 10 a.m. Rev. Anthony Fontenot, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin Tuesday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and resume Wednesday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
