Faye Harlow Kahn

Mildred “Faye” Harlow Kahn, 79, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 in a local hospital. 

Mrs. Kahn was born, raised and educated in DeRidder, LA and has lived the past fifty years in Lake Charles.  She worked nearly thirty years in the banking industry.   Mrs. Kahn enjoyed working in her flower gardens and shopping.  She also enjoyed traveling to spend time with family and friends and was always excited to find a shopping Outlet Mall along the way.  Her greatest joy was her family, gatherings of family and hosting countless gatherings over the years for extended family and friends.  She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.  Mrs. Kahn will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family and the special place in her heart for puppies.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 53 years, Edward George Kahn of Lake Charles; brother, Paul Harlow and wife Clara of DeRidder; sister, Helen Carroll of DeRidder; two granddaughters, Leila Bordelon and husband Shannon and Kimberly Lane and husband Robert, both of Lake Charles; two great-granddaughters, Kaylee Bordelon and Rory Lane; one great-great grandson, Graeson Davis; many dearly loved nieces and nephews and many dear friends.  She also leaves her “baby dogs”, Koda and Scout.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gaye Kahn Beakley; her parents, Otis and Adella Miers Harlow; three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Kahn’s family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the team of doctors and nurses that cared for her in ICU at Christus St. Patrick’s Hospital for their kindness, compassion and excellence in care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 600 University Drive, Lake Charles, LA 70605 or the Habbi Shriner’s for children, 2928 Pack House Road, Lake Charles, LA 70615.

Services will be on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church. Reverend Charles Miller will officiate. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 PM. There will be a meal provided following the service at the church fellowship hall.
