Flora Mae Conner, 85, of Sweet Lake passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Conner was born on April 15, 1930 in Grand Chenier where she was raised and lived most of her life in Little Chenier. Hurricane Rita relocated her to Sweet Lake. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker who raised her children and cared for and adored her family. She will be remembered for her love for angels, roses, and hummingbirds and her enjoyment in laughter. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, David Conner and companion Teri Lippon of Moss Bluff and Dale Conner and wife Theresa of Grand Lake; three daughters and their spouses, Mary Conner Aven and Bert of Sulphur, Annie Conner Young and Joe of Sweet Lake, and Carol Conner Benoit and Lee Allen of Grand Lake; four brothers, Frank Miller Jr. and wife Ann of Hayes, Joseph Lee Miller and wife Becky, John Adam Miller, and Julian Lee "Butch" Miller all of Lake Charles; a sister, Lou Anna "Pelet" Guidry of Hayes; fourteen grandchildren; and thirty-four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Lee John Conner; a son, Robert "Bobby" Conner; and a grandson, Kevin Carlin. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Tony Fontenot will officiate. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Monday in the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 10:30 AM.
