Florence "Flo" Davis Roy

Florence "Flo" Davis Roy, saw Heaven on May 15, 2026 at the age of 94. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Florence was born on September 16, 1931, in Oberlin, Louisiana, Florence lived a life filled with joy, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Florence graduated from Oberlin High School in 1948 and went on to have a fulfilling career as a secretary at PPG. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply involved in her community, finding joy in her contributions to Woodlawn Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Women on Mission group. She also participated in various organizations, including the Iowa Senior Center of whom she was a founding member, AARP, and Operation Christmas Child, where her spirit of giving shone brightly. Florence was also an instructor for Weight Watchers International for many years

Florence's family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her loving children: son Michael Roy (Margaret), daughter Cynthia Miller (Michael), and daughter Katie Voyght (Adrian). She also leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love in her seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and community, as she touched the hearts of many with her warm spirit and positive outlook on life. Florence's infectious joy brought happiness to countless lives, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In celebration of her life, a public viewing will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Iowa on May 21, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather for her funeral service on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM, visitation will continue at 8:00 AM on Friday. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Reed Cemetery, Oberlin, LA, where she will continue to watch over her loved ones.

As we remember Florence, let us carry forward her legacy of joy, love, and kindness in our own lives. Her spirit will remain a guiding light, inspiring us to cherish every moment and serve others as she did.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Katie Stockwell Davis; her husband, Anthony Roy; her son, Mark Roy and daughter-in-law, Debbie Roy, and an infant son; her brothers, Ruben Davis, Robert Davis; and her sister, Mary Lou Johnson.

The family would like to thank all the care partners and the nursing staff for all their care, compassion and humbleness shown to Ms. Flo during this time.
