Florence Lynne Holtzman

June 21, 1939 – March 14, 2017       

Florence “Lynne” Holtzman passed away on March 14, 2017. Lynne was preceded in death by the love of her life, Raymond Holtzman, her husband of 37 years as well as her parents, Henry and Frances Austin.

She is survived by her two sons, Barry Holtzman (wife, Dawana) of Houston, Texas and Todd Holtzman of Lake Charles; grandsons Benjamin Holtzman and Raymond Holtzman of Houston, Texas. Lynne is also survived by her sister, Charlotte Gaman of Houston, sister-in-law, Sadelle Fischer of Forest Hills, NY, and nieces and nephews, Gerry Gaman, Alan Gaman (wife, Lori), Jerry Fischer, William Fischer (wife, Barbara), Will Franklin (wife, Becky), Jan Lenard (husband, Pete) Leah Holtzman Eisen (husband, Stuart), Scott Holtzman, David Holtzman (wife, Dawn), and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Lynne was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas and after a brief period of living in Los Angeles, she met her soon to be husband Raymond, a native of Lake Charles, and made the city her home for the next 58 years. The family would like to thank Dr. Sandra Bruno of Lake Charles and Dr. Michael Frumovitz of MD Anderson in Houston for their highly competent and compassionate care. Also, we especially thank her wonderful neighbors, Jackie and Vernon King, for their invaluable loving care and concern.

Visitation with family and friends will be held at Johnsons Funeral home from 1-3pm on Monday March 20, 2017, with a service led by Rabbi Barry Weinstein at the funeral home chapel beginning at 3 PM.
