Floy Dyrell Stokes, 85, of Sulphur passed away peacefully on October 3, 2017. Floy was a member of Apostolic Temple in Lake Charles. She spent many years working as a co-owner in her family’s businesses, Kim’s Radiator and Kim’s Mini Warehouse. Prior to that, she worked as a nurse for West Cal-Cam Hospital and Holly Hill Nursing Home. Floy was an awesome grandmother, enjoying any and every moment with her grandchildren. In her eyes they could do no wrong.
Floy is survived by her three sons, Phil Stokes and wife Dale, Dyrell Stokes and wife Rhonda all of Sulphur, and Kim Stokes and wife Patty of DeRidder; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Frank Jones and wife Jena of Shreveport, LA and Kenneth Jones of Hornbeck, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Stokes; her parents, Asa and Oma Jones; grandson, Kable Stokes; and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Apostolic Temple in Lake Charles with Rev. Rick Treece officiating. A graveside burial service will be in Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA at 3 P.M. under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 6-9 P.M. at Apostolic Temple with visitation continuing on Saturday, October 7 from 9 A.M. until time of the service. The family would like to give special thanks for the loving excellent care given by the employees of Stonebridge Place and Brighton Bridge Hospice.
