Floyd Glenn Bond, 69, of Burkeville, TX passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in his home.
Mr. Bond was born in Clarksville, TX to Floyd Alton Bond and Lillian Storey Bond. He lived most of his life in Lake Charles and has lived the past fifteen years in Burkeville. He was a graduate of North Little Rock High School and McNeese State University where he attained a Bachelor and Master degree in Education. He played high school football and college football on a scholarship. He was most proud of the years sharing his love of the game, coaching his son and students football at the junior high and high school level. Mr. Bond retired a Mud Engineer with nearly thirty years in the Oil Field Industry. His children will most remember him for his pure hard work and dedication.
He leaves to honor his memory, his wife, Linda Guttry Bond; two daughters, Barbara Jean Causey (Dennis) and Leigh Anne Goodwin; son Russell Storey Bond (Ashley); two stepdaughters, Melissa Wright (Jon) and Kim Guttry (Richard); one sister, Nancy Bond Fuller (Ray); one brother, Timothy Lee Bond and seven grandchildren and four step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rodney Alan Bond.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, May 1st, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Marcus Wade will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
